Financial assistance for coursework tuition or required testing will be covered through this grant if accepted to the Bilingual Teacher Professional Development Program.
Eligibility requirements for application to this Teach Bilingual CA program are listed below:
1) Employed as a certificated employee in a local school district within the consortium.
2) Hold a valid California multiple subject, single subject or education specialist teaching credential that authorizes instruction to English learners (2042) authorization or a valid California credential plus CLAD certificate or its equivalent.
3) Language proficiency – all applicants must demonstrate their language fluency by passing the CSET-Spanish Subtest III
Pathways to Obtain a Bilingual Authorization
Option 1: Complete Course Work in Approved Program
Complete coursework through an approved Bilingual Authorization Program (usually consists of three courses).
Grant will pay program tuition and $500 scholarship for the CTC issued Bilingual Authorization.
Option 2: Passing Scores on CSET Spanish Subtest III, IV, and V
Grant will pay $500 for CSET Tests III, IV, and V registration fees, prep courses and study materials and $500 scholarship for the CTC issued Bilingual Authorization.
Option 3: Coursework combined with passing scores on CSET
Grant will pay course tuition and fees pending each individual circumstance and $500 scholarship for the CTC issued Bilingual Authorization.
